Students learn about the process of organic farming with an dynamic and interactive tour around a locally-owned farm. They dip into Medellin's tragic past and hopeful future with a tour around one of the city's most vibrant areas. Joining our partner foundation, students take part in dynamic activities that promote the importance of Human Rights and sustainable cites. We connect to nature with an eco walk of the senses before tasting Colombia's finest coffee beans and learning how to reforest the land. The trip culminates in a trip to Colombia's most stunning natural reserve where we raft, zip line and live the jungle life with the monkeys.
Journey through one of Medellin's most vibrant neighbourhoods, learning about the history of Colombia's second largest city. Students take part in a community workshop and a music and dance workshop.
Travel to el Carmen de Viboral, a town one hour from Medellin, to meet a traditional Antioquia farmer. Understand, and taste, the entire process of organic farming. Then, students split into teams to cook their own sustainable meal!
Explore Medellin's extraordinary ecological playground, Parque Arvi. Students visit Colombia's second largest plant nursery, experience a thrilling eco walk which tests every sense. In the afternoon, students enjoy a coffee tasting session with a local coffee maker then they take part in their own reforestation project and enjoy a bonfire under the stars.
Students travel 3 hours south east to visit Colombia's most spectacular natural reserves: Rio Claro. Here, they raft down a crystal clear river and underneath unique marble caves. As the sun sets, students walk among the fascinating flora and fauna and discover an endemic bird species.
After waking up to the howl of monkeys, students zip through the jungle on a canopy experience before wading through the river to reach some stunning waterfalls. The group returns to Medellin after lunch for a final reflections session and an introduction to our post-trip challenge.
