Program Overview
We visit a pioneering local farmer who has dedicated his life producing healthy organic food. Students learn about the process of sustainable farming with an dynamic and interactive tour around his farm. Students then take to the kitchen to tackle Kagumu's unique sustainable cooking challenge. They'll also visit a plant nursery, learning about good forestry techniques and discovering ways to reduce their carbon emissions. The trip ends with an unforgettable adrenaline ride through the forests! |
Day 1
Travel to el Carmen de Viboral, a town one hour from Medellin, to meet a traditional Antioquia farmer. Understand, and taste, the entire process of organic farming. After a yoga class, students split into teams to cook their own sustainable meal! Day 2 Explore Medellin's extraordinary ecological playground, Parque Arvi. Students visit a local plant nursery and experience a thrilling eco walk which tests every sense. In the afternoon, students enjoy a coffee tasting session with a local coffee maker then they take part in their own reforestation project and enjoy a bonfire under the stars. Day 3 Students take part in a artisanal workshop before enjoying an adrenaline canopy ride amongst the towering forests of Santa Elena. We finish with an expert-led reflection session, giving students the tools to make positive changes to their lives. |
